Example: The force 7i + 4j N acts at the point (5, 3); find its moment about the point (2, 1)

Solution: First draw a sketch showing the components of the force and the point (2, 1).

Taking moments about P clockwise

moment = 7 x 2 - 4 x 3 = 2 Nm clockwise.
